Alice Walker went through a lot to find out about Zora Neale Hurston.
When ever she Walker finds some one to take her to Eatonville she goes all out. She searches everywhere even under a rock just to find where Hurston lived, Where she was born? Who she talked to? and more. One of the things that Walker did a lot was look for clues in Hurston's books. That's the way she found about Eatonville. Walker even told the people she met that she was Hurston's niece just to get people to open up to her and not seem like a total stranger.
Throughout the journey, Walker found out that things have obviously changed from the past to now. She realized how much times have changed and why there wasn't a proper burial for poor Hurston. She also realized that when ever you want something yo have to do everything you can do to achieve it. Just like she lied about being Hurston's niece.

Why wait?
So sad in the morning
Here sitting by the tree
So sad in the morning
Waiting in the heat
Nothing ever came from my lover
nothing ever came for me
Was waiting for love in the door step
Nothing ever came
Too late for that now the shadowy figure came
My lover is now gone
and so is my soul
So sad in the morning
Sitting by this tree.

Years to Come
You never know what the future holds for anyone there fore we might not now what the future holds for Jaine. Assuming what happens in everyday life, i think that the years to come for Janie might be both. Shes gonna have questions answered and shes gonna get some questions unanswered in return. The questions that will be answered might be the one of her finding love. She might actually fall in love with Joe. The questions that she might receive are.. Will this marriage with Jody work? Will he keep being the same nice, charismatic guys, they introduced him as?

Uniqueness
In today's society theres many people trying to find their own voice. That can be hard because there are 7 billion people in the planet, what can you do to be different? That's a question that every one asks themselves, who am i? who will i become?
Still though, i think that there is a lot of people out there trying to be someone they're not. It is very difficult for someone to find their own voice especially because they have been influenced by many other people. Being influenced by other people is not bad at all though, it actually makes a person themselves. I'm still trying to find my voice, just like any other highschooler is, I'm not in any pressure or anything, which is why I'm going to take my time to find it, because,I,compared to many other people, will be unique in my own way.

Questions.
What ever happened to Dasy's daughter?
In chapter 4, Whats up with Mr.Wolfshiem's nose?
Why does Nick have doubts about Gastsby's past?
Why does Tom always cheat on Daisy?
Why doesnt Tom divorce Daisy?
Does Nick have commitment issues?

Judgement
a habit that has opened up many curious natures,
to me and also made me the victim of not a few veteran bores.
The abnormal mind is quick to detect and attach itself to this quality,
when it appears in a normal person...when I realized by some unmistakable sign that an intimate revelation was quivering on the horizon;
for the intimate revelations of young men,
or at least the terms in which they express them,
are usually plagiaristic and marred by obvious suppressions.
Reserving judgments is a matter of infinite hope.
I am still a little afraid of missing something if I forget that,
as my father snobbishly suggested,
and I snobbishly repeat,
a sense of the fundamental decencies is parcelled out unequally at birth. (Fitzgerald, 1)

What ever it takes!
Today peoples dreams are rather hard to achieve, especially in to days world. Today (in my opinion) the worlds economy is just crashing and becoming worse and worse by the second. People keep loosing jobs therefore cannot achieve their dreams. When this happens people just start doing what ever it take to make their dreams happen. The Phrase "justify the means" becomes so powerful because it literally mean, would you do anything possible to achieve your dreams? Even if it meant killing a person? or committing a crime?
Believe it or not there is people out there who have done that, they have killed a person or committed a crime so they could have something they want, that's just horrible. Imagine having to live with the burden of you taking someones life in your conscious, what would you do? would you end up going mad?
I personally believe that you should do anything legal to achieve your dreams. Work hard, sweat and cry, any hard work you do will be a satisfaction in the end because you have now completed your dream! You're the one who made it happen through sweat ant tears and not blood.

It's Whats On The Inside That Matters.
Now a days there are many people who can trick you into believing that they are something they're not. You might think that they are the sweetest person you've ever met but they they turn out to be the worst liar ever! Looks are very deceptive more in our generation compared to our parents. When i was little trying to make friends was the hardest thing you could do. I mean yes you could of gone and talked to them straight up but what would they think of me afterwards? Would they ever talk to me again? Would they think I'm weird? All of these questions bother many people, including me. We keep over thinking what would other people think when in reality many people shouldn't even care what people say about them. In the end they're just opinions.
Instead of caring about looks or money which have no value what so ever, you should be thinking about your family, your education, those things are substantial. Your family is never going to leave you and education is just going to take you further in life. Even if i ever married the richest and hottest man in America i wouldn't care for his money nor his looks, i would try to get an education myself and try to earn the money with out his help and in the end the personality is what matters. Of course this is just my opinion. Most of the teenagers now are growing up with the mentality that money and looks are all that matters, even if you told them that, they might be in denial at first but that's what many people are looking for. I don't understand how people could be so shallow like that but then again everyone is entitled to their own opinion and mine is that its your inner beauty is the one that matters.

Why Assimilate, When You Could Be Yourself?
To assimilate means to become comfortable with others costumes and to use them yourself. There's many people now a days trying to assimilate to things that are not them; many of them just want to fit in. In A Raisin In The Sun, Beneatha herself worries that she may be an "assimilationist". In order for Beneatha to fit in she keeps "mutilating", as Asagai refers it, her hair. As we probably all know, Beneatha's hair is not the same way it was as when she was born so, she gets a straight perm just to fit in societies rules of a white woman. This play uses assimilation as a weakness because the characters are so in wrapped in a white community that they try to fit in as whites themselves. It's just like nowadays, people will do anything to fit in. They would even go hang out and start acting like people of other races or other color. I usually dont assimilate in to other races, dont ever act another race nor i try to be them. Eric Liu , however, never had intentions of becoming white on the inside, it just sort of happened. There were many event in his lifetime that managed to change him into a "banana".

Family Comes First.
The title explains it all. There's no doubt in my mind that my family will always come first. Yes there might be times where i cant stand them and when i want to do my own thing but at the end of the day they are who i want to thank for everything, literally everything. I'm not the type of person who usually judges at first sight, if you love yourself more than you love your family, that's cool, who am i to judge?
Anyways, back to my family, like i said before they come first in everything. If i have something new i want to wear i go to them or if i have a problem I'm not able to deal with i go to them, no matter what it is they are always first. They are the ones who i want to thank for pushing me so hard to do the best i can!

Living The American Dream
Many people ask me how I'm so smart or how do i do it all at once.. Well there really is no answer to it, i do everything i can to live the American dream (and succeed).
But Iliana.. You're not American.. Yeah, yeah i know..
I was born in Mexico in a nice small neighborhood. Family of 5 living paycheck to paycheck it was hard but we never gave up. One day finally i step foot here in America. At first i thought it wasn't so different, except for the street names and sings being in a different language and all,
but then i stared to notice how much freedom everyone here has. How different people treat you (in a good way), the way people live their everyday lives, it was a completely different routine, a routine I'm still getting used to.
Now I'm here 7 years later, in a college class while in high school. Taking everyday as a mountain and climbing it all the way to the top, making my family proud and telling them everyday that I'm living The American Dream.
